Fresh Food

Yes, sometimes it is really good to eat fresh stuff - and you can even prepare funny food with it. Somethig like this, for example:

beetroot-apple-grapes-salad, filled cucumber with a zucchini-stack, nut-plums: 100% raw, 100% organic, 100% vegan :-)

.. I ate it with fresh organic wild bear's garlic pesto (not heat-treated)

Vegetarian picnic

This Sunday, there was a big vegetarian picnic here in Ljubljana - some of you might have seen the photos already. It was great! Vegan/vegetarian food everywhere (a whole table full with cakes and cookies for example), information and promotion stalls, lectures, music/dancing, and a lot of sunshine. Good to see so many people who care about similar things :-)

There were also some Animal Rights people from Croatia there. Nice bunch of people, I have to say! Might visit them some day..

Living

Manu W. has moved out yesterday, she went back to Austria for her diploma exam tomorrow. So I am living in this huge appartment alone now, crazy. Bedroom, living room, huge desk and even a small kitchen, all for me. This is even better than the month during my Internship where Sun paid my stay in the NH Hotel for a month..
Ok, I have to pay myself now (about 10 euro per night), but still..

Sunny Slovenia

Amazing, it is still sunny here, only one day where it rained for a little while. I can't wait to get out of the office in the evening to stroll around the city center. Almost every evening, 2 guys are playing rumba guitar music there, aah, I can't tell you how much I love that. Great city, really..

Organic

Today I went to the market place to buy some veges, only to find out that today's market is the biggest organic market of the year! All the stuff there was organic, and no meat around :-))
I love this place..

Addendum: lunar eclipse

Yesterday

Gosh, I feel really lucky here. I met Jernej recently (my flatmate from NZ), and he gave me his old bike. So now I am going to uni by bike which is really cool. Almost adventurous actually, as you have to wiggly lines between bus stops an parking lots - but all on this redish path that is there especially for bikers.

Well, yesterday afternoon I was handing our flyers and then strolling around in the center, I found a great organic store. In the store I started talking with an American woman, and she told me about the partial lunar eclipse the same evening. I would not have known otherwise. Outside the shop, still talking to the lady, a guy from England joined us, and so I ended walking around with him. He had to kill time, as his train left at 2 in the morning. So we went along the river (I probably would have gone another way if I was alone. I already was in this area, I thought), and we ended up seeing a traditional Folk dance performance there. Not too different from Austrian folk dance I assume. But cool to see it anyways.
After strolling around for a while, I said I would go home now to work (and get my camera to take pics of the moon), and on the way to the bike I ended up listening to a South American guitar band that was playing in front of a cafe. Cool, eh?
On the way home, I also passed a fruit&vege stall, and so I even had fresh fruit when I came home. Had a relaxed evening after that (moon pics did not really work out though..).

Life is good.

Vegan community

It is incredible to see how vegans all around the world care for each other. I have organized some email addresses from vegans in Slovenia, and it is just incredible how helpful they are!
Right now I got an email from Maja, who not only invited me to her birthday party, but also offered me a room to say! And all she knows about me is my name and my email address..

I like it.
Be part of the vegan community and you will have caring friends all around the world :-)
